Trail Option – Thamel to Shivapuri National Park and back. In this trip, we start early in the morning (around 8 Am) to escape the traffic in the city section. We ride 8 Km almost on a flat paved road from Thamel to Budhanilkantha. From Budhanilkantha, it’s 3 Km steep uphill till the entrance of Shivapuri National Park. We pay for our permits, take drinks and we gradually climb uphill on a dirt road to Nagi Gompa, a nun monastery. We explore the monastery, witness the Kathmandu Valley from the top and take some photos. The ride ahead is easy as we ride on a flat and downhill amidst the tranquility of the forest until we reach Sundarijal. From Sundarijal we ride back to via Thamel on via city section.
